Squares. Squares is a visual logic game where foresight and careful strategy is required to win. The aim of this game is to recreate the random pattern in the right window by inverting different blocks in the left window. For the keys, press HELP anytime in the game. There are 512 patterns. Every one should be possible. I don't think I have played all of them but I haven't found an impossible one yet. I have managed 50 games, 0 passes with an average of 4 moves so it isn't that difficult when you know how. Installation. The two fonts NUMBERS.FON and F8X18.FON have to go in the \OPD directory on the M: drive. The two OPA's have to go in the \APP directory on the M: drive. Only the SQUARES.OPA will be usable until you register. On the system screen, use Psion + I to install them. You are free to use the fonts in your own programs. NUMBERS.FON is a set of digital numbers which are 19 by 18 in size and F8X18.FON is a set containing characters from 32 to 128, with a few gaps. The name refers to it's size. The characters are 8 wide and 18 high. This game is shareware. If you like it and wish to keep using it, I would be grateful if you could send me a cheque for £5 sterling or $10.00 on Compuserve SWREG 13873. If you do register, you will receive a code to disable the nag screens and to enable access to Squares 2 which is included with this file. The sequel uses white, black and grey squares. Instead of inverting squares, you rotate through white, grey, black. This makes the game considerably harder. Also, there are massive 19683 combinations, almost 40 times the first version. So, if you find the game becoming too easy, register for a greater challenge. Tristan Bonsall The Old Coach House, Fox Hill, Petworth, W Sussex, GU28 0HE. ENGLAND. 106213.1330@compuserve.com
